The building concept is to represent a link between land and sky. Sky because of its location at an airport. Land because of its shape and material expression. Divided into three levels, each with its own function and façade, every part of the building has a different look from the outside and the overview of the building is a terracotta block dematerialized from land to sky. The main body houses the hotel rooms, below, the “base” and “neck” of the building hold the rest of the program. A ventilated façade of land-coloured slats is used in the northern facades, whereas the Southeast and Southwest elevations use ceramic louvers, conveying the idea of the building as a terracotta carved piece. |
