这是萨拉曼卡的一所监狱的改造，改造后规划为艺术中心，建筑从功能性，历史性出发，消除或者减少一些损坏的建筑。这是一个拆除和改造的过程，以得到一个简单易懂的新建筑，用新的途径来诠释以前留下的建筑，适应新的功能是关键。建筑中心建造了展览空间，其建筑特点是按照老监狱来定义的。游客从画廊开始，到达中心挑高双层的展厅，此展厅是保留和新建的结合体，是最有趣的地方。通过修复的楼梯可以抵达最高层。这个主要大厅，保留了原始的大门的造型，使游客身临其境。 在整個修復过程，維持监狱空间仍然是整體建设最重要的要素，其中包含大厅中央控制的大围栏分隔。監獄外圍的建筑和设计是以前建築的主要特色，在此為象征性的重要元素。
